Fun work place very interactive staff. Never a dull moment with the kids! The staff gives you a very extensive training to make sure you are equipped to work with the kiddos!

They prepare you well for your role as an instructor and even after that they are there for you. Your mentor is always checking in on you. They are always making sure you are able to ask questions without feeling held back.

Training

This is one of the many things that sets FirstSteps apart from others. We fully subscribe to the adage to “always be learning” and that translates to an “always be training and supporting our team” mindset. We ensure each and every instructor attains their credential as a Registered Behavior Technician and all of our Program Managers receive the additional supervision and learning opportunities required to attain their Behavior Analyst certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

Education

For those joining FirstSteps with their RBT credential, we are thrilled to offer you a signing bonus for the training and education you have already acquired. It is also quite common for our new Instructors to “get the ABA bug” and want to pursue graduate education in our field. Not only do we support and encourage our staff to do so, our Executive Director and Director of Research created and launched a master’s program in ABA at USC where many of our employees attend and have graduated. In addition to USC, FirstSteps is an approved practicum placement for most of our local universities who offer ABA coursework. Throughout your education, you can count on your FirstSteps mentors to be by your side, supporting your research, and helping you to connect classroom concepts to your applied work with our little ones. And – after graduation, our SoFi Student Loan refinance program is there for our employees to reduce loan burden.
